What Is An All Terrain Pushchair/Stroller?
All terrain pushchairs come with 3 wheels with pneumatic tyres that are designed to cope with all kinds of terrains as well as pavements. Although a relatively new concept, they are roughly based on a mountain bike. They use chunky tyres with added suspension to the chair frame to provide more comfort for the child and to provide better manageability across rough and/or bumpy terrains.
You don’t need this type of stroller unless you regularly intend to walk with your child along the beach or muddy country tracks etc.
You may also find all terrain strollers lighter and easier to use if you intend to jog while pushing a stroller, but all terrain pushchairs are not fundamentally jogging strollers. For instance, one difference you will see is the size of the tyres, jogging strollers tend can have up to 20inch wheels that the Phil and Teds Strollers do not have! As an example, see the Instep Jogging Stroller that has 16inch wheels and a very light and manageable frame.
